Namby-pamby! Chika Unigwe, her praises Now lie on my lips Like a body must lie on the bed.
A humanist, she’s maximal in charity, Maxim!
She has nipped my headgear By the exhibition of an old tradition – A selfless duty – Very seldom people practice in our woo-world of present Where the acquisition of ‘oof’ and self-aggrandizement Have taken the streets of the interlopers.
She is not mawkish, not magniloquent, Not like the noisy black-and-white bird Which is attracted by, and often Takes away, small, bright objects.
No! She is rational, I have seen her In the literary world she’s blessed plenteous. This is my orison! May she never cry For what belongs to her Because she is a mahatma. Copyright 2007 Odimegwu Onwumere |
