KWENU! Our culture, our future |
Ode to September 11 Joseph Emenyeonu Tell it not in Pentagon, Publish it not it not in Washington. How has the mighty WTC fallen! Oh! America, my America! Superpower struck by super terror, From OSAMA the BIN of terrorists LADEN with hate for the watchdog Of as just world and terror-free society. What words can describe Feelings and pent-up emotions? When stories are told and recounted, When pictures are watched and conjured Of lifeless and dismembered bodies Sprawling the streets of New York City; Of cries of fear and hysteria Better imagined than seen, From people trying to shake off An ugly dream yet the feeling Remains the same. What can stem from the tide of blood Flowing from the nooks of Washington To the crannies of New York? What can assuage the feelings Of frayed nerves and disheveled minds? And then, what can heal the wounds Inflicted on the pride of America? Once again, what words can ]Describe this madness from the Procreators of death; this diabolical Outburst from the agents of Satan Poised to wipe out civilization and Indeed humanity all in the name of religion! What beguiled color wear religion of nowadays? Here in lies a jigsaw puzzle The needs not trials but solutions. One of the keys to unraveling This mystery is: FRAGILE! HANDLE WITH CARE. Other panacea may be ACTION & SANCTION, DIPLOMACY, BALANCE OF TERROR, etc. But whichever route we take In finding a lasting solution to this myth, Let us not jump to conclusions. Let us think before actions, So that in our haste we not make errors And in our errors cause more harm Than the September 11 mayhem.
