Just supposing you are right to call me
A laughing jackass like you always thought of me
And having to placate your command with a smile of an ass
Old habit die hard and away from the trash

The years gone by, turned grey and drag
The fingers are arthritic claws hung
To a wishful beacon glinting from your eyes
And a heart as cold would not melt ice

To quench the taste of my patched remorse
As I seek the face of your forgiveness
To contend with the loud clangs of your prejudice
First with my irritable flippancy and indifferences

To issues that would quiver the head to stir
That wears the crown to regales of a martyr
And shoot the mouth of the skylark and teeth
A raven with a waddling gait of crows feet

Just let me laugh one more time
To clear the air for you and to contemplate
To becoming myself again before the complete
Lose in surrendering it all to you as you please
